As a former Ofsted HMI (Her Majesty’s Inspector) I, like most people who are, or have been Ofsted inspectors, have a good working knowledge of safeguarding and how to inspect it. However, I recognise that I am not an expert per se in the field. So, in my current role as a FE and Skills Consultant, I have always referred any provider wanting specialist safeguarding advice and training to The Safeguarding Consultant whom I know from Gill's time being in charge of student services in an Ofsted grade 1, outstanding college. The feedback from those providers, whether training providers, employer providers or colleges has always been very complimentary and many of them have continued to use the Safeguarding Consultant to support and guide them.
