Designated Safeguarding Lead Training for Providers of Post 16 Education

This Level 3 (1 Credit) three-hour course will focus on the role and responsibilities of the Designated Safeguarding Lead in a Post 16 setting. 

After completing this course, delegates will understand:

  • The role of the Designated Safeguarding Lead and Deputies
  • Leadership and management of safeguarding in an organisation
  • Statutory responsibilities
  • The importance of the DfE’s Keeping Children Safe in Education
  • Early Help and intervention
  • How to make referrals and signpost learners to support
  • The importance of working with other safeguarding partners
  • How to record concerns
  • The importance of training and keeping up to date with local risks
  • How to embed a safeguarding culture across the organisation

Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will receive accreditation from the Open College Network (OCN Credit4Learning)
