This Level 3 (1 Credit) three-hour course will focus on the role and responsibilities of the Designated Safeguarding Lead in a Post 16 setting.
After completing this course, delegates will understand:
- The role of the Designated Safeguarding Lead and Deputies
- Leadership and management of safeguarding in an organisation
- Statutory responsibilities
- The importance of the DfE’s Keeping Children Safe in Education
- Early Help and intervention
- How to make referrals and signpost learners to support
- The importance of working with other safeguarding partners
- How to record concerns
- The importance of training and keeping up to date with local risks
- How to embed a safeguarding culture across the organisation
Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will receive accreditation from the Open College Network (OCN Credit4Learning)
